Our hotel in Lisbon!

We’ve got a NEW hotel base for our “photo tourism workshop” in Lisbon, Portugal!

The tour operator Tripmasters is offering a great deal on air fare and hotel to Lisbon (for example, eight days in Lisbon, air fare and hotel included, out of New York City is only $930.28/person!). We just can’t find a better tour package – trust me, I’ve looked for months!

The hotel is the Hotel Borges Chiado (if the text is in Portugese, look to the lower right of the page to change it to English). It looks amazing!

The other thing that was important to me was that whatever hotel we chose was centrally located and the Hotel Borges Chiado is definitely that. It’s only a 5 minute walk from the Santa Justa Lift, less than ten minutes from the Convento do Carmo and 15 minutes away from the Castelo de S. Jorge, among other attractions including over a dozen bars and restaurants within a couple of blocks!

Here’s how to take advantage of this great offer.

1) Go to this URL and choose “With Air” or “Without Air” at the top.

2) In the “Going to:” field, choose “Lisbon”.

3) Choose your arrival date (Melissa and I will arrive on Friday, March 22nd. Join us and I’ll buy the first round at the pub! 🙂 ) and the number of nights stay (workshop will be from March 23rd to March 30th, 2019) – several of us will depart on Sunday, March 31st.

4) Then click “No more cities. Continue”

The site will take you to a page where flight information is listed first. If the first flight listed is one you want, scroll down to the hotels next. If the flight isn’t good, click “Find cheaper flights”.

5) Pick your hotel. Make sure it is the Hotel Borges Chiado!

(This part may be a bit confusing so call the tour operator Tripmasters if you need to!)

If you’re OK with the standard room, you’re good to go. If not, click on “Browse hotels” on the right-hand side then, on the left-hand side of the next page, search for “Borges Chiado”. Sadly, as this is Europe, there will be a *dizzying* array of choices. 🙁 The hotel has a list of the rooms but they don’t necessarily correspond to what is listed on TripMasters.

As you choose, make note of the various refund policies and whether or not the room comes with breakfast included.

For those of us with expensive tastes (or who live in Canada), TripMasters offers “staggered payments” if your trip is over $2000US.

I hope you’ll agree this is a lovely hotel, a great location in a beautiful city, and a wonderful deal for our attendees. We are going to have a blast in Lisbon and you are going to learn a lot about photography and have fun doing it!

SEE YOU IN LISBON!
